Role Purpose
The Communications Intern will support FIPS Africa’s visibility, storytelling, and brand presence by documenting field activities, developing digital content, and contributing to communication initiatives that showcase the organization’s impact among smallholder farmers and partners. The intern will work closely with various departments to produce engaging and informative communication materials across multiple platforms.
Key Responsibilities
- Document field interventions through photography and visual storytelling with farmers and field teams across Kenya.
- Support coordination of internal photography initiatives, including staff photo competitions that highlight grassroots activities.
- Assist in developing and publishing content for FIPS Africa’s social media platforms (Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, TikTok, and X).
- Design simple communication materials such as posters, graphics, and presentations using Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar tools.
- Gather stories, visuals, and data for inclusion in FIPS Africa’s annual yearbook and impact reports.
- Track and compile basic social media analytics and performance reports to inform communication strategies.
- Collaborate with departments to support communication campaigns, brand visibility, and organizational messaging.
- Provide general administrative and coordination support to the Communications team as required.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Communications, Journalism and Mass Communication, Public Relations, Corporate Communication, Media Studies, Digital/Multimedia Communication, or a related field.
- No prior work experience required (recent graduates encouraged to apply).
- Experience or interest in photography, videography, storytelling, or digital content creation is an added advantage.
