    Monitoring and Evaluation Officer

    Mission for Essential Drugs and Supplies (MEDS) is a faith-based health solutions provider founded by an ecumenical partnership of the Kenya Conference of Catholic Bishops (KCCB) and the Christian Health Association of Kenya (CHAK). The Organization’s core mandate is being a reliable provider for quality and affordable Health Products and Technologies, Quality Assurance and Health Systems Strengthening Services. MEDS was established in 1986 and serves clients spread throughout Kenya, other regions in Africa and beyond.

    The position will report to the Monitoring and Evaluation Manager and will be responsible for implementing, designing and coordinating monitoring, evaluation, and learning activities across MEDS. He/She will ensure data-driven decision making through effective performance tracking, analysis, and reporting aligned with MEDS strategic objectives and requirements.

    Job Responsibilities

    1. Support implementation of organization MEL framework, ensuring alignment with established Key Performance Indicators
    2. Develop and maintain data collection tools, trackers and performance dashboards to monitor project progress
    • Assess organization performance against established Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to evaluate progress and outcomes.
    1. Conduct routine Data Quality assessments to verify the accuracy, reliability, and consistency of data collected and reported by different organizational sections.
    2. Update the performance monitoring dashboard and compile quarterly, semi-annual, and annual reports to track progress
    3. Validate process outputs to ensure their effectiveness and alignment with objectives
    • Document success stories, periodic publications, and evidence-based abstracts arising from organizational performance to highlight achievements
    • Build the capacity of staff in data collection methods, tools, MEL frameworks, indicator tracking, and reporting to enhance data management skills
    1. Track key organization activities against set milestones to monitor progress and identify any delays or issues
    2. Visualize data through summary dashboards, scorecards, and Power BI reports to support decision-making

     

    Qualifications

    1. Bachelor’s degree in Monitoring and Evaluation/Public Health/Statistics/Data science/Health Records and Information Management or related field
    2. Advanced certification in data science analytics for large data sets using R, STATA, Epi Info is an added advantage
    3. Proficiency in MEL tools and software (Excel, Power BI, Kobo Toolbox etc)
    4. At least 5 years of relevant experience
    5. Technical competencies; Project Management, Monitoring and Evaluation, Data analysis and dissemination skills, Advanced skills in Excel, Data visualization, MS Office Suite Proficiency, report-writing skills
    6. Behavioural competencies: Communication skills, problem-solving skills, analytical skills, , high level of integrity, self-driven and keen to details
