    VACCANCY ANNOUNCEMENT: General Manager

    REPORTING TO: Managing Director

    IMPORTANT NOTE: Suitable candidates should have hands -on experience in hospitality sector and specifically a boutique hotel setup.

    Job summary

    We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced General Manager to lead Saggys, a boutique hotel committed to delivering exceptional guest experiences. The General Manager will oversee all aspects of hotel operations, from guest services to financial management, ensuring that every element reflects the brand’s unique character and commitment to quality. The ideal candidate has a strong background in hospitality management, with a focus on boutique or luxury hotels, and is adept at revenue generation and operational efficiency.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Ensure the highest standards of personalized guest service, enhancing every guest interaction to reflect our brand values.
    • Oversee and ensure the quality of guest rooms, amenities, and public spaces, regularly reviewing guest feedback to maintain and improve service levels.
    • Supervise daily operations across all departments to maintain smooth and efficient processes.
    • Develop and implement operational policies and procedures to ensure efficiency, safety, and quality in all areas.
    • Set and manage annual budgets, forecasts, and operational costs to achieve revenue and profitability goals.
    • Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to optimize performance, maximize revenue, and control costs.
    • Drive sales and marketing strategies in collaboration with the Sales and Marketing team to attract new guests and retain returning customers.
    • Collaborate with the marketing team to ensure the hotel’s unique character and branding are effectively communicated through online and offline channels.
    • Coordinate special events, partnerships, and promotions that resonate with the boutique market and enhance brand visibility
    • Set clear performance goals and provide regular feedback and coaching to inspire and guide team members.
    • Foster a positive and inclusive workplace culture focused on teamwork, communication, and professional development.

     

    • Ensure compliance with all local health, safety, and legal regulations, ensure all licenses are up to date and also maintaining a safe environment for guests and employees.
    • Implement and enforce security protocols and procedures to protect guests, staff, and property.
    • Manage relationships with vendors, suppliers, and contractors to ensure quality and cost-effectiveness of supplies and services.
    • Report to the MD doted to Chairman/Board on hotel performance, financial metrics, and strategic plans.

     

    QUALIFICATIONS

    1. Bachelor’s degree in hotel management or business administration, MBA will be an added advantage.
    2. 10 years’ experience in hospitality industry, with at least 5-7 years in managerial role in hotel industry.
    3. Proven track record of successfully increasing revenue and enhancing guest satisfaction
    4. Strong knowledge of financial planning, budgeting, forecasting and cost control
    5. Deep understanding of guest needs and preferences within a boutique hotel setting.
    6. They should have sales and marketing background in hospitality.
